One dog night

When the bars and restaurants eventually close for the night in this most vibrant of Italian cities, the streets of Naples are overtaken by a relatively still, silent air, peppered only by the odd clatter or bang as a street door closes or a garbage bin is sealed for the last time that day.
The roads and alleyways then become the realm of a few nocturnal opportunists - in this case, a dog looking for discarded scraps of food before smaller, less domesticated, rivals steal them away...
